Xavier University officially kicked off its Centennial Year celebrations with an event that brought together both the campus and the local community. The festivities began in the morning with a campus mass, followed by a community-led program that highlighted the vital role Xavier University plays in the cultural and educational landscape of New Orleans. The program saw a diverse audience, including Xavier students, faculty, staff, board members, alumni, community leaders, elected officials, and other supporters of the university, all coming together to celebrate this milestone.
After the formal program, the campus transformed into a lively hub of activity, hosting an open event for all students and attendees. This celebration featured a variety of food options, live music, and a second line band performance. Additionally, the Divine Nine Greek Houses showcased their talents, further enriching the event with their performances. This day not only marked the beginning of a year-long celebration but also reinforced the strong ties between Xavier University and the New Orleans community.
